I'm Kris and I partner with teams to shape ideas, build alignment, and bring ideas to life.
I've led work across brand strategy, messaging systems, UX, and visual identity for scrappy startups, global institutions, and everything in between. Some projects needed a name and a story. Others needed a design system and a roadmap. Most needed both, which is where I do my best work.
I started as a designer at a boutique Chicago agency (miss you, Carmy!), then moved through agency and in-house roles in technology, real estate, and clean energy. Along the way I stopped drawing lines between disciplines. Language, technology, event, print: I've worked in all of it, and the range is the point. The more tools you're fluent in, the more ways you have to solve the actual problem. Strategy shapes the design, the design sharpens the words, and a print run and a product launch turn out to have more in common than anyone expects.
That holistic view is the whole point. I like to experiment, because the best answer is rarely the first or the obvious one, and clarity of purpose beats volume of output every time. The result is work people actually use, and maybe even love. Messaging frameworks that keep five teams on the same page. Brand guides that get opened, not archived. Taglines that stick. Websites that convert. And lately, AI-assisted workflows that help creative teams move faster without losing the plot.
KP&CO is my personal brand. The creative here reflects internal roles as well as consulting work spanning brand strategy, content, and digital experiences. If you're building something that deserves to be understood, let's make it unforgettable.
